Summer Ball - 3rd July 2014

The wine was flowing, the music was playing and the SBMs were dancing...

The LASBM Summer Ball was a roaring success with great food, great entertainment and great company! The night started with the Ripley Jazz Band who got things swinging for guests with a drinks reception on the patio.

Our magician, Paul Roberts, wowed onlookers with tricks even the most attentive guests couldn’t figure out and reminded us of the old adage 'When life gives you lemons...turn them into oranges!'

More musical entertainment was provided by the Lomax Brothers who got everyone on their feet with their renditions of hits such as 'Relight My Fire' and 'Mustang Sally'.

Ted Robbins kept us all laughing but if you thought he was just a funny man you were wrong! We had a bit of culture from Ted, too, when he recited Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18 (Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?).

Stephen Morales, Executive Director of NASBM, was there to show his support for LASBM and spoke about how powerful he considers local groups can be. Look out for an article featuring Stephen very soon.

Here’s what our guests had to say...

Thanks to Sue and the LASBM team for organising an outstanding Summer Ball on Friday 13th June 2014. Good company, excellent music, delicious food and a funny comedian. Just one question - What date is the next one?

Fiona Gill, School Business Manager, Morecambe Road School

Thanks so much for inviting us to your dinner last Friday, we had a really good time and even managed to talk some business as well.

Jeremy Pilgrim, School Property Matters

It was great to meet so many clients and colleagues at the LASBM Summer Ball this year; a great night, superb entertainment and wonderful dancing!

Kevan Walsh, Zenergi

I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful enjoyable event last Friday. I know these things take a lot of organising but I thought everything went really well and I had a lovely time.
