Just thought I would share my thoughts on last week's NASBM National Conference with LASBM members. It was my first time as a delegate and I would definitely recommend it to you for next year. Came back with a wealth of knowledge from the workshops I attended and contacts from the sponsor exhibition. The programme was varied and included speeches by Ministers and motivational speakers. The new Standards were launched by Stephen Morales and Lord Lindsay and Sue has already posted a link [on the LASBM members’ site] to these which make interesting reading. Although I travelled with a fellow LASBM member I wouldn't hesitate going on my own in future as everyone went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. Had chance to network and find out what other SBMs were up to in different parts of the country. Came back full of enthusiasm and ready to implement some changes in school. Thanks to the "Blackpool Crew" and Jayne, Sue, Jenny and Judy for their company at the Casino Night and Gala Dinner! Hope to be there again next year.

Comment from Sue Edwards, LASBM: It was good to see five of our members (besides the LASBM team) at the event this year. It would be great to see even more of you there next time, so now might be the time to mention it to your heads.
